This ultimately expanded into a lifelong passion and connection with the idea of using music and songwriting for visual storytelling. In addition, this connection to music and art has brought her too branding for the music industry from creating several albums covers, CD print layouts, merchandise, band promotion, scrims, backdrops, advertising concepts, and everything in between. Her branding is largely painted digitally with various other media for progressive and introspective bands of all kinds.
Sammi first specialized in conceptual art and photo-realism built off classical painting techniques to which she began integrating and applying her talent to not only paintings and sketches but also into the digital art world. Sam first illustrated graphic novels, band art, and was commissioned by tattoo shops to create flash concepts which helped pay for her education till she was awarded a full scholarship to attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago up North where she received her degree in interdisciplinary visual studies in 2010.
She began integrating and applying this interest to all media such as paintings, watercolor, graffiti cans-air brush, oil, and drawings as well as design & photography. Over time she continued to experiment, self-teach, & develop new techniques by capturing photos and digitally manipulating and painting them further to achieve a desired concept & reference for her work. Currently, Sammi has been awarded to attend the Savannah College of Art & Design for her Master of Fine Arts in Painting.
Sammi is also a strong believer in fostering creativity and fulfillment through personal pursuits. Sammi’s own curiosity for life is necessary to adapt and feed her own creativity and this has brought her to new & remote turfs from the love for motorcycles, music, learning new techniques, and studying abroad for her work.
